Indian Army and NASSCOM jointly to seek better job opportunities for the veterans

New Delhi: As a novel stride and path-breaking initiative which is expected to have far reaching implications in future, Army and NASSCOM to come together and scout modern day job opportunities for Army veterans in the IT Sector.

In intervals, Indian Army produces many cadres in various IT and technological related fields, but most are unable to find suitable options in the second inning of their lives after an active army life mostly because of the technological and cultural differences with the Civil street.

“In a recent development, many multi-national firm and corporations have shown concern to hire the Army veterans not only for their exceptional attributes which includes discipline and loyalty, but, also for their technological and cultural quotient”, said, Maj Gen Deepak Sapra MD, AWPO (Army Welfare Placement Org)

Earlier it used to face a disparity with corporate world and used to be a significant challenge in hiring these veterans for modern day IT related jobs. The idea has been conceptualized and will be actioned jointly by Army, NASSCOM and US Bank Wells Fargo.

A two-day brainstorming seminar has also been planned in Bangalore, and to underway today and will be on till tomorrow.

Whilst Army will assess the industrial needs during the two day event in Bangalore, NASSCOM will help Army teams with clear orientation to the modern industrial needs in the IT sector, big industrial houses will also be present to share challenges of HR and draw benefits from this first ever mega-event. Players like Amazon will also be participating, as reported.
