Sumbal: Family of incarcerated separatist leader Abul Samad Inqalabi Tuesday alleged that despite court directions, jail authorities are denying medical treatment to him, though he has been suffering from multiple ailments.

Inqalabi, according to family members was arrested by Army in July 2017 from Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. “Inqalabi was picked up by Army during a raid when he was present in the house of Burhan Wani. He was later handed over to police and subsequently booked and sent to Srinagar Central Jail. He was released for a couple of days and then again arrested and presently he is languishing in Kot Bhalwal Jail,” Muhammad Yousuf, his brother told news agency CNS.

He said earlier in Kathua Jail he was thrashed by jail authorities and now in Kot Bhalwal jail his health has deteriorated to a great extent.

“My brother in a written communiqué to Jail Superintendent had requested him to shift him to some hospital but his request was ignored,” he said adding that the inhuman treatment given to Inqalabi has put his life at risk. (CNS)
