Militants offer ‘Gun Salute’ to slain colleague; Hizb commander Sabzar spotted

SRINAGAR: Among the two militants killed in a shootout by security forces in Awantipora area of the south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Rayees Ahmad was given Gun salute by the hizbul mujahedin militant outfit at his village Below Pulwama late night today.

The other militant killed was identified as Farooq Ahmad Hurra of Nazneenpora village of Shopian. Reports said that Militant commanderSabzar Ahmad Bhat,  who is believed to have replaced Burhan Wani as the Hizbul Mujahideen’s operational chief in Kashmir and remains one of the top-rated militants of the outfit was also present on the occasion.

In a video which was circulated on social sites, amid sloganeering all around, militants were seen holding guns, offering gun salute to the slain colleague. Reports said that among other militants who arrived on the funeral of Slain militant, Sabzar was also present. In the shaky and dark video, gun shots are heard with dim images of militants.

However the identification of militants present on the funeral of slain militant is not confirmed.
