Anantnag : A pre-dawn gunfight has started between militants and government forces in Marhama village of Sangam Bijbehara belt of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official sources told KNO that on receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area joint team of forces including 3 RR, CRPF and SOG launched search operation in the area.
On intensifying the search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering gunfight, he said
A brief exchange of fire took place and currently are under way in the area, he added
Sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.(KNO)
