Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar, Thursday strongly condemned the killing of one unarmed civilian and injuring of another, by resorting to indiscriminate use of force by the Government forces at Delipora Pulwama and demanded that the International Community and other Human Rights Organizations of the world should take notice of these barbaric events and prevent India from violating the basic and inalienable human rights of the people of Kashmir with impunity.
The Bar expressed their grief over the sad demise of Arshid Hussain Dar of Mirgund Pattan, who had sustained pellet injuries on Monday, when he alongwith other civilians, was protesting against the kidnapping and rape of a 3-year-old girl, of Sumbal, Sonawari District Baramulla and was fired upon by the Govt. forces and had to be rushed to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to the pellet injuries.
The Bar also condemned the rape incident of a 16-year-old minor girl by a youth at Haran Ganderbal and demanded that the accused, who has been already arrested, should be tried by a fast track court and awarded exemplary punishment.
The Bar Association also paid rich tributes to Shaheed Molvi Mohammad Farooq, who was fired upon and martyred on 21st of May, 1990 at his Nigeen residence. While remembering the sacrifices given by the said leader and his family members, in supporting and propagating the cause of the people of Kashmir, it was stated that he was a bold leader and a great articulator and had the potential to go to any extent to espouse the cause of the people for their social and political upliftment.
