SRINAGAR : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah today said that he could understand pain of the people of Pulwama district.
Omar Abdullah while addressing party workers at Pulwama said “people of Pulwama have got nothing over past and four and half years. I can understand the helplessness and despair that is writ large on the faces of people here”.
Lashing out at the PDP, Omar said that thousands of people in 2014 came out of their homes and cast their ballot but they got nothing in return.
“Those who you voted for in last elections did not use your votes for your benefit but they used them to wield the power,” Omar said.
He asked people to vote in favour of their Lok Sabha candidate for Anantnag constituency so that New Delhi could be made “accountable” for what they did here during last five years. “PDP did not use your votes for your benefit,” Omar said. (PTK)
