Kulgam: School kids from Government Primary School Malwan village along with their parents staged a protest outside DC office Kulgam on Friday.
The protesting parents and students demanded construction of a new school building as they said that Panchayat Ghar that was turned into school has been completely damaged. They said a 2000 litre water tank on the roof came down crashing a couple of days ago, leaving students in shock. “The water tank damaged the roof and walls of the school. Little kids had a narrow escape,” the protesters told news agency CNS.
Government Primary School Malwan has 135 students with 2 teachers. “We have no option but to protest on the road to attract the attention of the insensitive administration,” they said and urged upon authorities to arrange a school building for them till construction on the new building starts.
