Srinagar: United Jihad Council Chief Syed Salahuddin Friday while expressing resentment over what he called ‘abrupt malicious’ campaign by New Delhi against Kashmiri leaders termed the move as sheer mockery of Indian agencies.
United Jihad Council spokesperson, Syed Sadaqat Hussain in a statement to news agency CNS quoted Syed Salahuddin as having said that these agencies are mere electioneering tools as they have been reduced to serve some vested interests rather than national interests.
He also said that it was unbelievable whether such institutions could ever stoop so low to present such an absurd and worthless vision of facts against the kashmiri leadership.
Referring to the nexus carried by various local and Indian newspapers about the properties belonging to various leaders of Jammu and Kashmir identified by NIA /ED ostensibly for seizure of properties, Chairman UJC disapproved the statement as false and far from reality and blamed Delhi for resorting to immoral and unconventional means to suppress the genuine voices of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Not only the Kashmiri Hurriyat leadership but many others among Indian politicians have already raised doubts on the timing of such actions of Delhi including the ban on Jammat-e-Islami, JKLF and now the so called identification of properties for seizure.”
Syed Salahuddin argued that the properties identified so for are as genuine as the leaders themselves, facts of which are better known to public to which they are answerable and therefore can’t be misled.
Terming this as a media trial to defame the Movement and its leadership in order to distract the people from the Cause on one side and to escape criticism during election time on the other.
“Syed Salahuddin believes that such fallacious campaign won’t work to deter the Kashmiri leadership and the public from nourshing the Movement, as such tactics has failed in the past as well,” the spokesperson quoted Syed Salahuddin as having said.
Jihad Council Chairman further said that their’s is a just and legitimate cause and demanded an urgent and honourable solution as per the aspirations of the kashmiri people. (CNS)
