Mobile Internet was suspended in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday following the killing of three militants in a gunfight with the government forces.
An official said the service was suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent law and order situation in the area.
The gunfight broke out early today after the forces launched searches in Kellar area of Shopian following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
A police official said the bodies of the three slain militants were recovered from the gunfight site. “Their identity is being established,” he said.
