SRINAGAR: Authorities here at a Private School which feel they are immune to any damn thing Tuesday grounded a majestic Chinar tree to pave way for school parking.
There are a number of chinar trees in and around the said School located at Sonwar Srinagar. A majestic chinar tree fell to axe in broad day light.
Locals mostly shopkeepers said that the tree was chopped on war-footing adding that all was done to clear the space for parking school buses.
The chopping has drawn flak from various circles with people demanding a probe into the matter.
An official from the school said that they have got a proper permission from the authorities.
The efforts to contact concerned government officials didn’t materialize as they didn’t respond repeated calls.(CNS)
