Gunfight rages in South Kashmir’s Tral

Srinagar :  Gunfight rages between militants and goverment forces in Mir Mohalla of Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday evening.

Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of army’s 42, 180 CRPF and SOG launched cordon and search operation in Mir Mohalla, Tral.

SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem told GNS that the encounter broke out between militants and Joint team of forces in Tral.
Earlier, the joint team of forces launched a cordon following a specific information about the presence of some militants in the area, he said.

As the per sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

While this report was being filed intermittent firing was going on.(GNS)
