Teachers handle MDM and Peon like work
HAJIN : Established in 2005, it does not have a proper building and lack’s all those basic facilities to be called a good school. Here are only 2 ReT teachers for six classes forget a sweeper and a peon.
Welcome to Government Primary School Sonshah Mohallah Shahgund Zone Hajin a rotten education institute in this north Kashmir village. The institute has been neglected by Education Department.
Elders of this village argue that,, “Is this school really optimum for studies, since this school lacks all basic amenities. The authorities of school education Kashmir has been continuously appealing to the teachers of Jammu and Kashmir to teach students keenly and efficaciously. How the authorities of school education expect desired results from this school; when there are only 2 teachers for 6 classes”.
This school has been lying in ruins since years and became victim of government neglect. As schools have reopened after the 8 months of killing of Hizbul Mujahedeen commander Burhan Wani and winter vacation. Here students were asked to clean up rooms themselves since there is no any peon employed in the school, It wonders me when we are asked to produce good results, not because we lack efficiency but because we have to adjust 6 classes in 2 rooms, which creates noise among students thus disturbs students of other classes a teacher tells Press Trust of Kashmir.
The institute has a total roll of 110 students including girls, when these two teachers get engaged with census and in election process whole education system disturbs here said Saima a 5th standard student of the school.
‘’We have no water here says Ulfat 6th standard student since its establishment the school has been without electricity ,a playground for us and a full-fledged washroom we have many problems here”, she says.
Sources said, school had not received the MDM bills of year 2004, also school have not received maintenance grants for last many years. This school has no toilet, no electricity facilities, dogs are roaming freely in the lawns of the school thus posing the threat to small children’s, and school has been without library. The one story building of just 6 rooms and 2 teachers have to adjust four other classes continuously on the open sky. We have conveyed the issue to higher authorities many times, but nothing is being done said a teacher wishing anonymity.
The school is crumbling for need of basic facilities the school staff said, they are disappointed by authorities for not granting them facilities even a teacher wishing anonymity said, I had not been receiving salary since from past 5 months and our MDM bills are still lying unattended.
