Three army men, woman killed in Shopian attack

SRINAGAR : At least three army men were killed leaving three other injured in a militant attack in Shopian today.

Police said that one elderly woman identified as Taja Wife of Ghulam Mohammed Mir of Mulu was also hit by a stray bullet inside her house during the cross fire also succumbed to injuries.

Giving details of the attack police said that on the information, a cordon and search operation was carried out at Kungnoo Shopian, by 44 RR and Police adding that the CASO concluded without any arrest or recovery.

Police said, while returning from Kungnoo, the CASO party was attacked by unknown militants at Mulu Chitragam at about 2 am resulting in injuries to six army personnel including two officers of whom three succumbed to their injuries.
