Ganderbal : The residents of Nunner village of Ganderbal today took to National Highway to protest non availability of transformer.
The protesting residents were demanding the installation of the transformer which is defunct. They said that are living miserable life without the electricity. Adding that, they are facing tough time in these winters without the electricity.
Mohammad Shafi Mir a protester alleged that, “We complained to the PDD employees about the transformer but they didn’t respond to the complaint. After 22 days the authorities removed the transformer and took it to repair but there was no sign of the transformer yet.”
Reports said that the protesters blocked the highway resulted into the inconvenience to the commuters. Huge numbers of vehicles were witnessed stranded in long queue.
Protesting residents blocked the National Highway and protested for almost three hours. Meanwhile the SHO Ganderbal and PDD employees assured the protestors that their demands will be fulfilled soon.
