Mehbooba mufti visits another militant family in Shopian

Advises forces to not harass militant families

Srinagar : Ex-chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti visited a militant family in Safamagri village of Shopian district on Thursday. This is her second visit to a militant family since last week.

“The forces should fight the militants not their families. Harassment of any militant’s family members should not happen,” she said.

While claiming that during her tenure, she advised forces not to harass families of militants during encounters, she advised the Governer of the state to issue official directions for the forces to behave.

“Our police is a disciplined force. They don’t want to harass the families but they are acting upon the directions from above,” she further said.(VMS)
