Stray dogs on prowl in Ahmad Nagar

SRINAGAR : Residents, tuition going students of Ahmad Nagar area of Srinagar have expressed concern over growing number of stray dogs.

The residents said, “It is has become risky for us to go to Mosque in the morning”.  People said that the stray dogs pose huge danger to the inhabitants, adding that the authorities are well aware of the issue but act as deaf and dumb.

Residents told PTK, that several kids have become victim of dog biting so far, alleging that the SMC fails to control the dog menace in the area.

Citing the reason behind the growing number of the stray dogs in the area, they said that the heaps of garbage on the main roads have led to this menace.

These dogs are roaming on the garbage site at Ahmad Nagar, leaving local people scared to roam around freely. They said that these stray dogs are also threat to the commuters as they chase the vehicles.

The residents of the area urge Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Srinagar to take measures to curb the stray dogs menace besides demand immediate removal of garbage on the roads.
