BANDIPORA : One militant, three security personnel’s were killed in the gun-battle in north Kashmir’s Parr Mohalla of Hajin area of Bandipora District on Tuesday Morning today.
The identity of the militant killed was not immediately ascertained; however the police sources said that he is a foreigner belongs to the Leshkar-Toibai militant outfit.
Police said that on a tip-off, 13 RR and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation in Parr Mohalla in Hajin early in the morning.
According to the PTK Correspondent, Police had specific information about the presence of militants in the area. Reports added that militants opened fire seeing the security forces cordoning off the area.
“In the Gunbattle a Militant belonging to LeT Cadre, three Army Men were killed. However Commandant of 46Bn CRPF was injured, who was shifted to army base hospital,” said a police official.
Meanwhile, a civilian namely Hilal Ahmed Parrey son of Mustafa Parrey was injured during a protest that erupted near the encounter site.
