SRINAGAR: President J&K Bachao Tehreek and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil demanded judicial probe and resignation of Governor Satyapal Malik on seven civilian killings by forces at Pulwama in south Kashmir.
Vakil, while condemning the killings said the blood of Kashmiri’s has become so cheap that it is being spilt on daily basis and without justification. He said the human rights should be respected and security forces should exercise maximum restraint while dealing with the present situation.
Vakil demanded an impartial judicial enquiry by sitting High Court Judge into the said killings so that the culprits are arrested and given exemplary punishment. While demanding the resignation of the governor on the said killings Vakil added that if governor have a human heart on clean consciousness, he must accept the responsibility of seven killings and quite forthwith as the governor rule has failed to create sense of security in the minds of the people of the state. He has broken the record in the civilian killings made by the previous governments of both Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah.
Vakil prayed for the departed souls of Pulwama and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, and said such incidents will only alienate the people especially youth from the main stream.
