SRINAGAR : National Conference (NC) chief and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said that his party will continue to fight for the state’s autonomy and that the just as J&K belongs to India, PaK belongs to Pakistan.

Speaking on the Centre’s stand on J&K’s demand for autonomy, Abdullah said that it is not on the Centre to decide but a decision that should be taken by the people of the state. He was addressing NC workers in Baramulla.

Abdullah also advocated the opening of the Sharada Peeth temple in Pakistan- administered-Kashmir (PaK) for Kashmiri Pandits after the Kartarpur Corridor.

However, Abdullah observed that the territory of PaK belongs to Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir is part of India.

The veteran politician further added that the National Conference stands for all those paths that lead to Indo-Pakistan friendship. “I believe friendship between the two nations is most important for this state. The day friendly relations begin between the two nations, the Kashmir issue will be resolved on its own,” he said. (PTK)
