SRINAGAR: The residents of Firdous colony, Eidgah Srinagar are up in arms against Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to provide power supply for past two weeks.
The inhabitants of the colony are suffering a lot due to no power supply since two weeks. “It’s hard for students to focus on study in absence of heating arrangement and light, equally it’s very painful for women to run home affairs without electricity.The locals are planning to Protest against the PDD as it is unmoved despite repeated pleas and people are left them with no option but to come on the streets”, said a Social Activist Er.Idrees ul haq.
Despite Repeated Calls Executive Engineer, Concerned Electrical Division is not reachable. “I request to Concerned MLA Eidgah , Power Minister Jenab NIrmal Singh Ji to look into this matter urgently as this is the humane issue.” added Er.Idrees ul haq
“I’m a student at Kashmir University and I had to go to relatives’ home to be able to study for my exams. Our phones were dead and we are feeling like living in ancient world . It’s so hard to manage during exams “ said Arsalan Manzoor, one of the resident, pursuing B.Tech CSE at University of Kashmir.
“I have to appear for examinations this month but I am hardly able to prepare for the same due to un availability of power supply ,” Manzoor Ahmad, a job aspirant, said.
