SRINAGAR: Asking Governor Satpal Malik to restrain from bulldozing the sanctity of institutions and interfering into sensitive issues, AIP President Er. Rasheed has sought immediate revocation of the decision of state administrative council, declaring Jammu & Kashmir Bank a public sector undertaking.
While addressing a public gathering at Dogripora Handwara today Er. Rasheed said “New Delhi had been eying on J&K Bank since long and now when Governor is at the helm of affairs it seems he to have decided to bulldoze everything that makes J&K a unique identity.
Malik should know that taking such huge and sensitive decisions is not his domain and he is only there for a temporary period to run day to day affairs. Non-state subjects including Governor and his advisors have no right to take the decisions of such vital significance through the route of so called SAC. The utterances must stop and the autonomous character of J&K Bank should not be compromised.
Whatsoever clarification is coming over the issue from Raj Bhawan is just an attempt to downplay and dilute the huge impacts of this colonial decision. The attempts to justify the SAC decision over J&K Bank is confession of guilt”.
Er. Rasheed asked New Delhi to realize that killing Kashmiris in cold blooded murder everyday will fetch nothing but just add to the anger among masses.
He said “Celebrating deaths of around 17 Kashmiris should make New Delhi and its agencies feel ashamed and the political leadership in India must realize that Kashmiris cannot be suppressed at the barrel of the gun. Encounters and killings will take New Delhi nowhere. New Delhi should avoid seeing the incidents taking place as law and order issues and must prepare itself for unconditional talks with Pakistan, pro-resistance leadership and the militants”.
Er. Rasheed accused NC and PDP of misleading masses over Government formation and said that both the parties are scared of New Delhi and don’t have courage and the guts to confront New Delhi. He said “Those claiming support of 56 MLAs should answer what stopped them from taking the MLAs to Raj Bhawan and Rashtrapati Bhawan. The least they could have done should have been to approach the Supreme Court but unfortunately neither NC nor PDP seems serious and sincere.
However if the two parties have a bit of sense of responsibility and truly want to limit the role of BJP or congress in the state, they must contest the upcoming elections together with a common manifesto, otherwise one has every reason to conclude that the basic purpose of NC and PDP is just to play anti BJP card to get to the corridors of power and then stab Kashmiris as usual”.
