PULWAMA: Police claims to have arrested Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Militant in Pulwama.
According to the police, based on specific input, joint team of Police, 55RR launched a cordon and search operation in Nowpora Payeen,Lassipora area of Pulwama district.
During the search of the cordoned houses, movement of a suspected militant was noticed from one of the houses towards the mosque.
“Immediately forces surrounding the area asked the holed up militant to come out. In the process services of village elders were also utilized. After much persuasion, the holed up militant came out and was apprehended”, police said.
While talking to PTK, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rayees Mohammad Bhat told that from the possession of the militant huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered. He said the police have recovered, Pistol – 01, Pistol rounds – 02, AK rounds – 36, Chinese grenade – 01,Pistol magazines – 02,Pouch – 01,First aid kit – 01.SSP said that the further investigation is on into the involvement of the arrested militant.
