Healing touch to people, stopping bloodshed was priority than polls: Akbar Lone

SRINAGAR: National Conference senior leader and MLA Sonawari Akbar Lone said that healing touch to the people and stopping bloodshed was the first priority than proposing Panchayat Elections in the state.

Speaking to Press Trust of Kashmir Akbar Lone said first priority of the Governor administration should be to provide healing touch to the sufferings of the people.

He added that due to militant threats government should take care of people and these elections can’t make any change in situation of Kashmir.

Akbar Lone added that the militant organizations too have threatened to attack candidates with acid if they participated in the panchayat polls, aggravating the situation on the ground. (PTK)
