Sopore : A youth from Sopore was attacked with a sharp object by a load carrier driver at Chattabal area of Srinagar late this evening.
Reports reaching GNS said that a youth identified as Zubair Mohammad son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Jamia Qadeem Sopore was attacked with a sharp object at Chattabal area of Srinagar on late Friday evening by a load carrier driver following an argument.
The family of the victim told GNS over phone that their son was travelling in a passenger vehicle when suddenly a load carrier vehicle hit with the passenger vehicle which resulting in a tussle between the two drivers, however when Zubair tried to stop them the load carrier driver attacked him with a sharp object.
The family said that in the attack their son received serious injuries and was taken to nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, police took cognizance of the incident and arrested the load carrier driver.
The attacker was identified as Suhaib Ahmed Ganie son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie resident of Aram Mohalla Chattabal Srinagar. (GNS)
