Sopore: The thieves on Tuesday drained oil from electrical transformers in Model Town area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, plunging the area into darkness.
Reports reaching GNS said that the thieves stole oil from the transformer last night. Due to non-availability of electricity, the residents said that have been put to inconvenience especially students who are appearing in different examinations.
When contacted a PDD officer told GNS that a team of officials visited the area and took stock of the damaged transformer. He said the department will repair the damage at earliest so that people will not face inconvenience.
Station House Officer Sopore Abdul Majeed told GNS that no complaint has been received regarding the incident. However, he said that the police will look into the matter. (GNS)
