Congress leader’s kin not in voter list ‘influencing’ admin to contest municipal polls

SRINAGAR: Tariq Tenga, the son-in-law of a senior Congress leader, who does not figure in the voter list in Srinagar, is trying to influence the administration to get himself enrolled to contest the forthcoming municipal polls, sources said.
According to sources, Tenga, the former ‘Mr. Kashmir’, and the son-in-law of veteran Congress leader, Taj Mohuiddin had recently joined Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC).
The sources said after coming to know of Tenga’s plans, a number of contesting candidates had approached the competent authorities to ensure that the Tenga does not get enrolled in the voter list at the last minute.

He is allegedly ready to spend any amount to contest the upcoming Municipal polls for Srinagar and to win the same.
Sources said while the his Father-in-Law  is using all influence in the civil and police administration to help his beloved son- in-law in the upcoming polls.
Pertinently the he doesn’t figure in the voter list for Srinagar.  .
Sources said that he looks ahead to become Mayor of Srinagar, trying hard to get himself enrolled in the voters list, more likely from Khanyar area of the congested old city.
Sources said the he visited the office of the concerned Tehsildar in old City as also the DC Office but was told that the process to enroll new voters has already ended over a month ago.
