SRINAGAR: The mystery revolving the death of a minor boy in Ganderbal turned out to be a murder, police claimed on Thursday.
Police said that the accused has been arrested. Khalil Poswal, SSP Ganderbal, while addressing a press conference said that soon after the dead body of the minor boy identified as Faisal Hussain Misgar, 12, son of Ghulam Hussain Misgar, a resident of Busarbugh Alestang, who was missing for a day, was recovered, an FIR was registered and a Special Investigation Team was constituted in this regard.
Police said, “All the evidences were recorded after the body was taken for the post-mortem. A suspected person identified as Abrar Majid Reshi 21, was detained for the questioning and after examining all the evidences, Reshi confessed to his crime.”
According to the police report, before killing Faisal, Reshi and his friend Shahid along with Faisal were smoking together and then Shahid left the place. Reshi got control of Faisal’s neck and strangulated him until he was dead. After killing Faisal, Reshi called his friend and told him about the incident.
Police said that the accused youth used to follow Faisal’s sister and had also sent a proposal to Misgar’s family that he intended to marry their daughter but the proposal was rejected by girl’s father.
Police said that the boy was killed in revenge as the accused Reshi had earlier told his friend Shahid that Faisal’s face resembles to his sister, with whom Reshi intended to marry. (PTK)
