SRINAGAR: Lashing out at the National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah for claiming that Jammu and Kashmir has neither merged nor will merge with the union of India, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State spokesman Altaf Thakur said that J&K is similar to other states of India and is an integral of the nation that is touching new heights under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendera Modi.

In a statement issued to PTK, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who treated Jammu and Kashmir at par with other states to ensure the state that has seen family rule since past six decades, reaches new heights on developmental front with every section of the society on board. Thakur said that the assertions made by Farooq Abdullah reflect the frustration of the party he is heading and his remarks are immature despite the fact he has been in politics since long.

The BJP state spokesman said that the father of Farooq Abdullah, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, was a visionary who preferred India over Pakistan. He said that in 1947, Sheikh Abdullah showed maturity by remaining witness to the accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh, which is final in every nature and the same accession makes J&K an integral part of India. Thakur said that Farooq Abdullah should refrain from issuing politically immature statements which are aimed at vote bank politics and creating confusion.

Thakur said that India as a nation is not the personal property of neither Gandhi’s nor Nehru’s and the fact remains that 1.30 crore people of India rejected the dynasty rule and chose a government having no hereditary connections with the politics. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured that all segments of the society irrespective of cast creed and religion are treated equally. He said Prime Minister Modi ensured there is no gender bias as far as governance is concerned and he left no stone unturned to take the government to its grass root level. (PTK)
