“I just want to sleep. A coma would be nice. Or amnesia. Anything, just to get rid of this, these thoughts, whispers in my mind. Did he rape my head, too?
“Here is the quote by Laurie Halse Anderson-An American writer. The internet and newspapers are full of quotes and news related to rape of a woman, I am not against it, but to think as a rational man is this thing not biased? We live in a world where some of the words like “Stereotypes”, “Biasness”, “Feminism”, and “Women Equality” are gaining limelight.
The world where people are talking about equality, the governments of different countries are making efforts to bring equality in every aspect, so when a Man is raped why the people rarely get to know about it or is this not violating the question of equality, pointing towards the quote, there can be a quote like this also–“Did She rape my head too”?
The same physical injury, trauma, emotional issues after they are raped is caused to a Man also. He cries for a help in the same way as a woman do, he feels the same pain when his clothes are torned off and he goes to a same after-effects of a rape, but what is different is he do not have people to fight for, he do not have newspapers to hear his voice and quotes to bear his pain.
We have movies on rape of a woman, which serves as an awareness but we do not have a movie on a rape of a Man., our duty is also to spread awareness on this also. It’s a fact that we live in a Male dominated world, but it does not mean that a male cannot be raped.
In a technology aided world, where we say “If life gives you question, Google gives you an answer’’, when you type Rape of a Man news, the answer which Google gives us is very surprising and depressing part -Either we get answers like-“A Man raping a Woman, A Pregnant Goat raped by Men or else we get an answer-“Rape of a Man not talked about”,
We have a time to talk about a rape of a goat by a man but we do not have time to talk about rape of a man by a man or a woman. In recent case in India in Mumbai a 14 year boy was lured into a room near where he played cricket, a man then shut the door and window, and raped him.
The boy died soon after, killed by the rat poison he consumed after the assault, we rarely know about this. Three women rape man for three days after drugging and kidnapping him in South Africa, Rees Mann, of the South African Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse, said nearly 20 per cent of sexual violations reported were on men.
He said: “Male victims are much less likely than females to report sexual abuse because police don’t take it seriously. “The bitter truth but saddest part is this that police do not take interest ,if lawmakers and Police officers will not take interest then how will the public at large will take interest ,they will also treat it as an secondary or not useful thing to talk about. “End Rape ,Stop Rapists” ,it should be equally for men and women rape victims.
Make male rape victims a part of the quotes, newspapers and give equal importance to them. Time to cover the uncovered painful voices of male rape victims has come .Hear their voices and stand for them
“Na wo hindu than na wo musalman tha.. Wo to bas ek insaan tha..
Jismo ko loota usne. Par Sharminda bhagwan tha..
Sisak k roya thaa wo maa… Aftaab k galiyare me
Kafan se sar dhak kar … Kho gaya tha ladla uske is andhiyare me..”
