SRINAGAR: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three “active members” of Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit in separate incidents of Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“Acting on a credible input, a joint team of police, army’s 52 RR and CRPF 177 and 179 bn laid a naka at Haritar today. During checking one person was apprehended in suspicion circumstances who during preliminary questioning has revealed his identity as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo son of Abdul Rehman Kaloo of Takiabal Sopore, an active member of JeM outfit,” a police spokesman in a statement issued here said.
Two grenades and Matrix sheet of JeM outfit were recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR No. 65 /2018 U/S 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act, was registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation taken up, the spokesman said.
In another separate incident, two active members of JeM outfit were apprehended by the joint team of Police, 32 RR and CRPF 92 Bn during a naka checking at Yarbugh Rafiabad today.
The spokesman identified the duo as Asif Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Abdul Majeed Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, both residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad.
“One hand Grenade, 04 Rounds of AK-47 and 02 Matrix sheets of JeM Outfit were also recovered from their possession and in this regard a case FIR NO. 92/2018 U/S 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation taken up, the spokesman said.
