SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday directed the authorities to release the pending salaries of SSA teachers before Eid-ul-Fitr.
The CM made the decision while chairing a high-level meeting regarding the issues of SSA teachers who have been protesting since last week demanding the salaries before the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The teachers had threatened to intensify the protest demonstrations across the state and observe the Eid as ‘black day’ if their salaries were not released ahead of the festival.
“Chaired a meeting regarding the salaries of SSA teachers to find a swift resolution to this issue,” Mehbooba Mufti tweeted.
The meeting, which continued for an hour, was attended by Minister for Education Choudary Zulfikar, Minister for Finance Altaf Bukhari, Minister for Technical Education Imran Raza Ansari, Chief Secretary BB Vyas, Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah and Principal Secretary to CM Rohit Kansal.
