Baramulla:  Decades after its establishment, the Sub District Hospital in North Kashmir’s Pattan town in Baramulla district has been longing for Digital X Ray, Generator and Ambulance.

Patients have to get their normal or Digital x ray tests done in private, as the hospital doesn’t have a generator to run its 40 years old x-ray Machine. Locals added that they still have to use candlelight inside the wards during power failure. For a simple Digital X ray people still have travel to Srinagar or private clinics,” they said.

More than 700 patients are being treated in the said hospital on daily basis, but unfortunately this Hospital has only one ambulance for patients and one Tata Sumo for Block Medical Officer.

Not only patients but doctors in the hospital too face enormous problems. “Director Health had given assurance that an ambulance will be provided to the hospital but that assurance proved a phony promise. Leave aside ambulance, there is no generator and digital X-Ray machine as a result patients badly suffer,” said a medico to CNS wishing anonymity.

The medicos as well patients appealed Director Health to take note of the problems faced by patients as well as by them in the hospital. (CNS)
