SRINAGAR: Counting words while writing in exams takes bulk of time which made a nine year old boy from Gurez area of Bandipora district to invent a ‘Counting pen’
Muzaffar Ahmad Khan who is a student of class 3rd has recently participated in an innovators exhibition held at Presidential House in New Delhi where he is was applauded by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind for his invention.
While talking to Kashmir Patriot, Muzaffar who belongs to poor family from Gurez said that the idea of inventing a counting pen struck his mind when he got minimum marks in exams due to short of words. He said that they very day he start thinking of inventing something which will save time to count words automatically.
Muzaffar said he worked on the idea for few days. He said latter with the help of some people he got in touch with the National innovation Foundation, an autonomous body under department of science and technology based on his idea developed such a pen.
“It is a pen with a casing attached at its rear end. A casing for electronics is made and printed on a 3D printer. Once someone writes, it shows the word count that can be displayed on a small LCD monitor. It can also be displayed on one’s mobile phone through a message”, he said.
