Authorities raid three centers and finds doctors absent

Srinagar: A 9 year old boy, which drowned in the local nallah in Naidkhai, but was retrieved alive, finally lost the fight of life, due to absence of the doctor the local Primary Health Centers.

According to reports the incident, that occurred on Friday, when a 9 year old boy Faizan Manzoor s/o Yousuf Sultan r/o Niadkhai drowned in water, while he was playing in the local nallah. Although he was retrieved immediately from the water by passersby and rushed to Primary Health Centre Naidkhai, but there was no doctor present in the center to give him the required first aid. He was then taken to Sumbal Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Locals got infuriated over the death of the child due to the absence of the doctor at PHC Naidkhai and protested against the messy health system in the area.

“Had the child received medical attention in time, his life would have been saved”, they alleged.

The protesters were up in arms against the health department and said that the system has totally failed in Sumbal area.

Pertinently Sumbal has been in news for past few days nowe, over the defunct health-care system in the area.

 In the meanwhile a joint team of Nab Tehsildar and BMO, after being informed about the absence of doctors in various health facilities in the area by CNS, raided three centers, where he found doctors absent from the duty. The team marked them absent without authorization and the action has been initiated against the absent doctors posted at 3 centers Shilwath, Rakh e Shilwath and Andkhaloo.
