Jammu: Seven people, including three children, were killed and three others injured when an overloaded vehicle part of marriage ceremony they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A police official said the vehicle (JK02H-1515) overturned and rolled down into a deep gorge at Damasgali area of Bhomag last night, leaving seven persons dead and three others injured.
“The car carrying bharatis was heading towards Chourakote from Sujandhar when the accident took place”.
The officer identified the deceased as Pankaj (8), Bikram (9), Ram Singh (14), Ragnu Nath (20), Surdhol Singh (22), Romesh Singh (25) and Karan Singh (40), Gogba.
The injured have been identified as, Uttam Singh (32), Pardev Singh (21) and Lehar Dingh (29), are undergoing treatment at the GMC hospital in Jammu, he said.
“A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered and further investigations initiated in this regard,” the officer added. (GNS)
