Varsity fails to fill 30 % posts of non-teaching faculty
Jammu: As many as 40 percent posts of teaching faculty are lying vacant in Central University, Jammu.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) these details have come to fore through information disclosed by the varsity under the Right to Information Act application filed by Raman Sharma.
According to information disclosed by the CUJ, out of 22 sanctioned posts of professors, 17 positions are lying vacant as on date.
The CUJ also disclosed that 32 posts of associate professors out of 44 sanctioned strength remain vacant.
The varsity also has a shortfall of 10 posts of assistant professors as out of 11 sanctioned positions of assistant professors only 80 posts have been filled. Around 30 percent posts of non-teaching staff is also vacant in the university.
The information reveals divulges that 35 posts of non-teaching have not been filled out of 119 sanctioned posts.
About the steps being taken by the University to fill the vacant posts, the PIO revealed that the varsity advertised teaching positions more than seven times during the period 2015-18.
But these posts remained vacant due to non- availability of suitable and eligible candidates, the posts remained vacant.
On the question of deadline for filling vacancies in the University, the Public Information Officer of the Varsity said it is an ongoing process and did not provide any time.
