SRINAGAR: Four paramilitary troopers including an officer and as many pedestrians were injured in two grenade blasts within one hour on Saturday evening.
Official sources told GNS that the militants hurled a grenade on CRPF 82 battalion (F coy) at Fatehkadal.
In the incident, three paramilitary men including Assistant Sub-Inspector sustained splinter injuries, they said, adding that three pedestrians including a woman also received injuries in the blast.
The injured troopers were identified as ASI Rambachan Yadav, Constable Tarak Math Gosh and Constable Krishna Ram Yadav of 82 bn. The civilian injured have been identified as Ghulam Mohammad of Kawdara, Abdul Majid of Safakadal and Taja Begium wife of Ghulam Qadir Ganie of Razdan Kocha Fatehkadal.
All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray while confirming the grenade attack on CRPF told GNS that the paramilitary men were deployed in the area for law and order.
Meanwhile, a paramilitary trooper was injured on Saturday evening in a grenade blast at Budshah bridge near Maisuma in Lalchowk.
A police officer told GNS that the suspected militants hurled a grenade on CRPF vehicle at Budshah bridge.
In the blast, a paramilitary CRPF trooper sustained splinter injuries. A pedestrian namely Abdul Rashid Mir of Gurez is also said to have received injuries in the incident. (GNS)
