Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday ordered the continuance of 2G mobile data services in the Union Territory till April 27.
The decision to continue with the restriction on high speed mobile data services comes at a time when people are seeking restoration of 4G internet in view of the Coronavirus outbreak.
According to an order issued by Home department this evening, a copy of which lies with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that the 2G mobile data services will continue across Jammu and Kashmir till 27.
However, the government in its order stated that the restrictions imposed on high speed mobile internet services have not posed any hindrance to COVID-19 control measures.
After the outbreak of deadly COVID-19, three petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court (SC), seeking restoration of 4G mobile data services –(KNO)
