81 quarantined in Srinagar

Srinagar: Over 80 passengers mostly from Kashmir who landed at Srinagar Airport on Wednesday have been quarantined.

   Reports said that district administration Srinagar have kept all these passengers who arrived Srinagar from Leh in a flight AI-448 have been kept at a secluded place. Sources added that all these passengers will be kept in isolation for at least 14 days.

  “Their samples will be collected and sent to testing labs to ensure that nobody is infected,” said an official.

   In this regard, District Magistrate Srinagar Dr Shahid Chowdary said that a Srinagar bound AI flight was returned this morning de-boarding 25 passengers at Leh while other 81 who landed later have been quarantined. Henceforth all passengers coming from Leh shall have to quarantine.

  When KNT asked DDC Srinagar, where these people who arrived from Leh has been quarantined, he said it is against the guidelines to reveal the location. (KNT)
