SRINAGAR: A 24-year-old youth was injured critically in government forces action at Soura area of Srinagar district yesterday evening.
Locals said that there were clashes at Soura area and police and CRPF troopers resorted to teargas shells and pellets last evening.
Two youths suffered pellet wounds. One of the youth namely Abdul Majeed War son of Ghulam Nabi of Anchar Soura suffered critical head injuries after pellets being fired upon him from the close range, they said.
Both were taken to SKIMS institute for treatment, however, the condition of War is stated to be critical, they said.
An official of the local police station said that it is being investigated as to how the youth suffered injuries.
Medical Superintendent of SKIMS Soura Dr. Farooq Jan confirmed that the youth was received in critical conditions and is being treated.
“His condition is very serious and is on the ventilator,” Medical Superintendent told GNS. (GNS)
