Beerwah Youth Killing: Police Registered FIR against army

SRINAGAR: A youth was killed after Army opened fire on protesters during clashes in Beerwah area of Budgam district.

Reports said that intense stone pelting erupted in the area after Friday prayers adding that the protesters pelted stones on Army patrol which resorted to firing.

A youth identified as Tanveer Ahmad Wani, a resident of Arwah village in Beerwah was hit by a bullet.

Meanwhile Police issued a statement which reads : “As per initial information received today a Foot Patrol of army was returning to its camp and near Beerwah some miscreants pelted stones on them.”

“Someone among these miscreants also hurled a fire cracker towards the army men. Because of bang the army men thought a grenade was hurled and they retaliated. Two persons identified as Tanveer Ahmed and Mohammed Ibrahim Wani were injured,” Police added.

“Among them Tanveer succumbed to his injuries while Ibrahim is stable,” Police said.

Meanwhile Kashmir Economic Alliance Chairman, Haji Muhammad Yasin Khan while talking to PTK said the ruling coalition is crossing all limits of cruelness, every time we condemn the innocent killings but sitting govt is keeping the same stand of cruelty which is big unfortunate.

Condemning the killing of youth in Budgam this afternoon, Khan who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, said: “It is a known fact that sitting govt is failed, it is result of their wrong policies that the condition of Kashmir is getting bad to worse after every passing day. Such killings will increase the anger among the public, the reaction from their side will add fuel to the fire.

“So govt should checked out those who are responsible for such killings and take measures against those ill elements in order to maintain peace in the valley”, he said.
