Tral: A devastating fire broke out at a local Islamic seminary in Tral during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, claiming the life of a 12-year-old student and injuring six others.The deceased, identified as Yasir Bashir, hailed from Kuchmulla village of Tral.
He was among several students present inside the Darul Uloom Shah Hamdan, a three-storey religious school, when flames engulfed the building in the middle of the night. The fire caused extensive damage to the structure, triggering panic and prompting a large-scale evacuation effort.
Local sources told me news agency Kashmir News Trust that dozens of students were safely rescued, while the six injured suffering from varying degrees of burns were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Their condition is reportedly stable.Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Police have registered a case and initiated further inquiries into the incident. [KNT]
