Kashmir lawyers protest Kulgam civilian killings, attempts to deny justice to Asifa

SRINAGAR: Lawyers across the Kashmir and Chenab valley on Thursday suspended their work in courts to register their protest against the civilian killings in Khudwani village of Kulgam district and attempt to deny the justice to Asifa Bano of Kuthua.
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar along with Chenab valley condemns the civilian killings at Khudwani Kulgam and state terror perpetuated upon the youth in Kashmir and call upon all peace loving nations to break their silence on state repression in Jammu and Kashmir adding that Kashmir has emerged as tragic human tragedy unattended by the world community.
“Indian Government has lashed out unilateral war of attrition against people of Jammu and Kashmir. Repeated mass killings by Indian army and other security agencies across the state symbolized the genocide and create fear psychosis in Jammu and Kashmir”, Bar Association added.
While talking to Kashmir Patriot, General Secretary J&K HCBA Srinagar, G.N Shaheen said that “It is unfortunate that the fringe elements are backed by some political forces to communalize the crime to defend the criminal”.
We demand law should take its own recourse Asifa trial should be either conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court or at least monitored by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, he added.
While as Lawyers Club Kashmir too condemned the tyrant operation unleashed by Indian state in the name of operation all out in Kashmir Valley. “We urge international community to impress upon India to initiate trilateral dialogue in order to put up an end to anti human policy that curb the demand for seeking democratic rights guaranteed by India and the international community”, Spokesperson lawyers club advocate Shabir butt added.
