SRINAGAR : Scores of the students of Government Dental College Srinagar today stages a protest demonstration beside went on an ‘indefinite strike’ against the alleged dictatorial approach of the college administration.
The students assembled in the premises of the college to stage their protest against the alleged harassment by college principal and head of orthodontics department.
Protesting students were carrying placards that read, “shut the college down” and “we want justice”. Amid sloganeering against the college administration, they were demanding attention of the government towards the “mismanagement” and “abuse of power” in the college.
“We are facing physical and mental harassment. We approached higher authorities including Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in this regard but nothing was done,” they said.
The students said that they have launched indefinite strike till their demands are not addressed. “We have no option as we tried to meet the principal yesterday but he did not listen to us,” they said. (PTK)
