No relief from present weather conditions in next four days: MeT

SRINAGAR | NOV 27: At minus 10.4, Kargil town in the Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir recorded the lowest temperature on Monday. While the Mata Vaishno Devi base camp town of Katra recorded the highest minimum temperature at 9.5 degrees Celsius.

Sonam Lotus, director of the Met Department said: “We are not expecting any relief from the present weather conditions in the state at least for the next four to five days.”

“In fact, there is likely to be further fall in morning and evening temperatures during the next few days, which is a normal phenomenon during this time of the year,” he added.

The night’s lowest in Leh town was minus 8.5 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperature in Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg were minus 0.4, minus 3.1 and minus 1.5, respectively.

Jammu city recorded 8.3, Batote 6.4, Bannihal 2.8 and Bhaderwah 3.1 as the night’s lowest temperatures, he said.
