Kashmir’s Music scientist, Dr Shahzad Asim appointed as Director for J&K by IHRO


SRINAGAR: Dr Shahzad Asim, a well known musician and first to complete a doctorate in music from the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been appointed as Director for J&K by the International Human rights organization (IHRO).

IHRO is United Nations and International bar Association affiliated besides a leading worldwide organization which advances action on ‘Human Rights’ issues for citizens. Dr Asim is executive member of International Council of Research and Art USA and International Music Council France.

Hailing from Sopore town of District Baramulla,Dr Asim is also known as music scientist from valley. He has received many awards in his career of research and as an musician. As a first music researcher he has widely acknowledged Books/Research Papers in his name such as, The secret of music approved by International Music Council France, The secret of nature approved by International Council of Research and Art USA, The moon at noon approved by International Council of Research and Art USA.

Dr Asim said, “Our work is directed towards creating a better world for the future of humanity through a plethora of comprehensive projects”. He said that the Social work will show people some of the darkest and most upsetting sides of humanity it is about assisting those who need it most. “It’s an honour to appoint me as Director for J&K state”, he adds.

In his music career, he has several hit Kashmiri albums to his cap including Brem Dith Saqi, Sadaa, Saher, Soz, Suroor, Saber and Sakoon. The awards he has received includes Gold medal award in the field of music from university of Kashmir,best artist award from Sonia Gandhi for the national integration program held at Surat (Gujrat), J & K best singer award 2006-2007-2008 through J & K arts, handicrafts & exhibition, best award for the contribution of art, culture & languages through institute of peace & research From Susheela Bhan Director IPRA New Delhi, best artist award for peace and prosperity and save art and languages of Kashmir titled Sain Kashir, best award for the contribution of cultural heritage of Kashmir titled Panun Kashmir, best artist award for Jane Apna Desh organized by NO MARKS INDIA LTD.2005, best artist certificate from directorate of field publicity Ministry of information & Broadcasting and received best artist certificate from J&K Art, Culture & Languages.
