New Delhi, Nov 4 : The Congress on Saturday demanded resignations of four Ministers, over the allegations of having conflict of interest, by serving as Directors in a non-governmental organisation, while holding key positions of governance.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Sibal, quoting media reports, said Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu, apart from Prasar Bharti Chairman Surya Prakash and BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav, were serving as Directors of NGO or rather a trust, called India Foundation.
He said this was a clear case of direct conflict of interest, as the Ministers and the head of an autonomous body, were earning profit by holding top notch positions in the trust, which was allegedly thriving on foreign funding.
He also pointed fingers at Shaurya Doval, son of National Security Advisor (NSA), who was heading the trust, apart from Minister of State for Civial Aviation Jayant Sinha and Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar, who were holding key positions in India Foundation.
Mr Sibal said the public wants to know the source of funding of India Foundation.
