Srinagar, Nov 3 : Two soldiers and a militant of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was killed in a fierce encounter in south Kashmir district of Pulwama late on Thursday night.
The authorities have suspended internet service since Thursday evening.
The operation has ended as two other militants, trapped in the area, have managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Official sources said that on a specific information about presence of militants at Sambora, Awantipora in Pulwama, a joint search operation was launched by 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 110 battalion of CRPF in the area Thursday evening.
However, when security forces were moving towards a particular area, the militants hiding there, fired at them with automatic weapons.
