AIP carries a mock police protest

Protest a wakeup call for J&K Police to respect their own people

SRINAGAR: In a unique innovative protest AIP today carried out a mock protest in Lal Chowk parading injured policemen in uniform, expressing their helplessness against army and taking a pledge that they will never now on words use force against their own people.

Accompanied by scores of colleagues lead by Er. Rasheed, two youth wearing police uniform and having artificial wounds on their head and arms started marching from Sher-I-Kashmir Park to Lal Chowk.

The youth in police uniform were holding banners reading “Our Uniform Could Not Save Us” and “we take oath never to commit atrocities against our own Kashmiri Brothers”. People in large numbers joined the march and when the march reached Lal Chowk Police foiled it and arrested Er. Rasheed along wit dozens of protesters. It resulted in chaos in the civil lines area and huge anti-army and pro plebiscite protests erupted in the area.

Before his arrest Er. Rasheed while talking to media said that today’s mock protest is a wakeup call  for the J&K police so that the message reaches to every local Jawan and Officer that they cannot become Indians despite humiliating their own people and as such let every cop take the pledge to respect the fellow Kashmiri brothers who are fighting for right to self determination and facing worst at the hands  of Indian state.
