SRINAGAR: At least 28 people were injured during clashes between protesters and security forces on Thursday in Zainapora village of Shopian district after an army vehicle crushed a 9-year-old girl to death.

Reports said that army vehicle crushed a 9-year-old girl to death in the village which caused outrage and people from adjoining villages took to streets to protest the death.

Security forces resort to tear gas shelling and pelt firing to disperse the protesters in which 28 people were injured among most of the injured were hit by pellets. Two policemen were also injured in the clashes.
